NBYL Spring 2025 Season Information

NBYL Spring 2025 Season Information

Matt Fogarty, the new Norwell Boys Youth Lacrosse Director,  has been involved in the program for the past 7 years as a Level Director and Coach.  He was on the first Norwell Youth Lacrosse team (’92) and I was a founding member of the first Norwell High School Boys’ Team.  He has three boys in the program currently (3rd,4th, and 6th). This year there are a few changes/updates to our Spring 2025 program as follows:

  • The 2025 spring registration will open on Friday, November 15th, and closes on Friday December 6th.  Registrations after this date are subject to availability by grade level and will be charged a $25 late fee.
  • Vendor for uniforms and apparel (same as last season):

  • We are continuing the “Learn to Play Lacrosse” program for kids in Grades K through 2 (both Boys & Girls) who have not yet made the commitment to full padded lacrosse. LTP will be run by Matt Belson and the Scoops Lacrosse crew. This has been a huge success the past few years, and we hope for it to continue to grow.
  • Full pads youth lacrosse for Boys Grades 1 through 8.
    • Helmet/Shoulder Pads/Elbow Pads/Gloves/Mouthguard/Cup
    • NBYL recommends going to Good Sport is Cohasset for new players.
    • If you have any questions on equipment, pads, or fit, please visit longtime friend of the program Austin Lynne at Good Sport in Cohasset, MA
  • G6-G8 will play full field 10v10 games
    • G6 defensemen are allowed to use tiger poles (poles to be the height of the player)
    • G7&G8 can use longer (D) poles
  • G4-G5 will play 7v7 on a modified field again this year
    • Long (D) poles will not be allowed at G4 or G5 TPL games again this year
  • We are attempting to schedule more FNL (Friday Night Lights) games with south shore towns at G5-G8
  • We have continued our transition to match the Norwell High Lacrosse uniform. Helmet decal packs will be offered during online youth registration (more helmet info at bottom of this email).
  • Looking for Volunteers at grades 1-4 to help coach and send email correspondence.

***HELMETS*** If your son does not have a helmet, needs a new helmet, or is new to the game, please purchase him a WHITE helmet for the upcoming season. We are aligning our uniforms and helmets with those of Norwell High School. If your son already has a helmet, and it is not white, do not buy another helmet. Simply make your son’s next helmet purchase a WHITE one when he outgrows his current model. CLUB lacrosse decals are not allowed at Norwell Boys Youth Lacrosse games. We play in the Town Pride League and ask all our players to be outfitted in Norwell helmets and apparel for practice and games. NO EXCEPTIONS.
